Bethesda promised their fans that their next-gen games like The Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield will run on improved next-gen engines. Microsoft has recently bought Bethesda for $7.5 billion, and it means that upcoming games will arrive in next-gen Xbox Series X. The Elder Scrolls is a popular series and, if this comes in Xbox Series X exclusively, then it’s a wrong indication for PS5. However, The Elder Scrolls is not coming anywhere soon. The developers are working on a few more projects like “Starfield,” so it will take a while to launch. The director and executive producer of Bethesda “Todd Howard” confirmed that it would not release until “Starfield” arrives.

Elder Scrolls 6 may be Exclusively Available on Xbox Series X

From the recent update, it’s been reported that Microsoft has owned Zenimax Media which is the parent company of Bethesda Game Studios. So as per this, Microsoft will have total access to the upcoming games. It is also possible that forthcoming games will be part of Game Pass which means the members won’t have to purchase the Elder Scrolls 6.

It is a bold step from both sides to allow the franchise like Elder Scrolls to Xbox exclusively. Bethesda has been an Xbox Game Pass supporter for a long time. In the past, they have invested in many games to provide as many as possible games for audiences. If Elder Scrolls 6 arrives on Xbox Game Pass, the owner of PS5 will have to purchase it at full price.

Bethesda is Rebuilding its Engine for the Elder Scrolls 6

A few months ago Leon Hurley talked about using the Skyrim engine for Elder Scrolls 6 with the new animation system, new lighting, new renderer, and also new photogrammetry. Now both Elder Scrolls and Starfield have rebuilt their engine and partnering it with Xbox will lead the games to new levels.

The company has not mentioned anything about the arrival of Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield for now. Both of these games were announced in 2018. Now that Microsoft is in operation, it is possible to see some content and some big games in the future. Even after the Microsoft accession, it is unlikely that Elder Scrolls 6 will be on PC and Xbox Series X exclusively.

Conclusion

Whatever publishers and developers are doing, they will surely release something new this time. The new improvements will offer a whole new setup, environment, and experience to the players. So now until any new update arrives, fans have to wait to find out what’s next.
