Google has always been a step further when it comes to adding attractive Easter eggs on the Search page. This time the easter eggs are inspired by the DVD screensaver theme. However, it is distinct from the website that focuses on the moving DVD logo but not completely different from your expectations with such a logo. According to an Engineer at Google, it seems like people might finally view the logo hit the corner of the screen by the new easter egg.

If you search for DVD Screensaver and wait for some time, the Google logo will displace itself from the top left corner of the search page and start rolling out across the screen. Here are some tips on how to find the recently hidden treat in Search.

Google has the new DVD screensaver Easter egg available to make a difference on the Search page. Google isn’t a newcomer to Easter eggs generally, and although a few were released several years ago and have since evanesced, others have stayed there online and are still easily available today. With the modern DVD-themed one, Google is offering a little movie nostalgia to those people who might have since shifted to streaming.

As with the majority of things, the internet has altered how people consume daily soaps, TV shows, and movies. However, there was an era when it was all DVDs, with the format doing for videos exactly what CDs did for music. generally packed with extras, DVDs provided better value, although people did have to scramble with regional disagreements. Even today, DVD videos have a different runtime in the United Kingdom compared to the U.S.

To activate the Easter egg, the consumer simply requires to look over to Google.com and type in “DVD screensaver.” At that point, the Google logo will shift away from its usually top-left place on the search page and travel over the screen at an angle before bouncing off the other side and ongoing its journey indefinitely. Whenever it touches to corner of the screen, the color of the logo will change between red, blue, green, and yellow, and the logo will keep bouncing around the corners until you leave the page, similar to the real DVD screensaver. For reference, the Easter egg is merely available on desktop, so it won’t be functioning on mobile devices.

A Throwback to Those DVD Days for Several People

Despite the advancement of streaming, DVD players are still available to buy. However, with most having made the shift from disc to the internet, Google’s DVD screensaver will be more of a throwback. For the people who don’t remember, or have yet to face the workings of a DVD player, then just like screensavers of today, once the DVD player enters a hibernate or lie torpid state, the screensaver enables resulting in the DVD logo moving around the screen. This function is exactly what the Google logo is copying in the new Easter egg. While this Google version won’t actually reward in the same convenience the original DVD screensaver tried to offer, it is still another Easter egg worth checking out.

As mentioned above, Easter eggs are one of the most popular pastimes with Google, and there have been quite a few shows-related ones. In the past, Google has embosomed Avengers with the efficiency to perform a Thanos snap on the Search results and the choice to turn the page into a sepia-toned version with a The Wizard Of Oz Easter egg. Right now, though, consumers will need to make do with a DVD screensaver or take part in a quick round of Atari Breakout.
