Saved in one of Melbourne's small alleyways, Gin Palace remains after several years of existence, one of Melbourne's hidden delights.
Walking to the quaint bar, the vibe I instantly acquired was very chill and tranquil. With the lights dim, the music on quietly in the background, there is a certain emphasis on talking. Vintage chairs and couches were put up throughout the venue floor. (The hardest part of the night was probably deciding where you can sit!)
After making that taunting decision of where you can sit, I really could then give attention to the big question… what to drink? Taking my seat I was greeted with a very friendly waitress who handed me a drink menu. Yes, Table service! This implies that there surely is simply no reason to leave your seat. Flicking through the menu, I figure when in Rome, I could as well give one of their famous cocktail bar Köln a try. I'd like to let you know, Gin Palace isn't stingy using their alcohol. After this 1 cocktail I was set for the night time!
As the night time grew later the area starting packing out with younger bodies and the seating started to limit. The venue actually got quite packed to my surprise, as I hadn't been aware of the venue until that night. gin tasting private
The best part of gin bar Palace, I discovered, was sitting yourself down and catching up with my friends on those vintage lounges. We all became oblivious to your surroundings. No longer did I feel as if I were out at a bar in the city. I felt way more as if I were going out at one of my friend's houses. (With the exception of the table service!)
If you are buying place to really have a few quiet drinks, meet up with friends, even take your girl out on a romantic date, gin tasting Palace will surely be sufficient in meeting your needs.
