WhatsApp fraud is also looting the users, and the company is making its mechanism better to stop this kind of frauds; sometimes the fraud is based on calls, while sometimes it is based on browser, even the blue tick disable fraud has also happened in the past when this feature is rolled out, not only this a WhatsApp Gold scam is also done in Spain which clearly tells that the hackers know WhatsApp is a popular app and one can easily fool people, WhatsApp is making the app more secure for users with its new update.

The new fraud is based on the 6-digit code which you get in this fraud; the users receive an SMS with a six-digit number on their phone. This is apparently coming from the WhatsApp platform itself; afterward, another message went on the app and from the chat of one of your contacts.

There is another prevalent scam done through calling in which your WhatsApp account gets locked.

The scammer calls you a WhatsApp agent in this new OTP scam. Then they talk about sending OTP to your account and then sharing this OTP with them. Hackers will lock your WhatsApp account as soon as you share OTP, so to save you from this fraud, WhatsApp came up with a brilliant solution.

Previously many cases were reported where there was a case of WhatsApp OTP scam in which hackers hacked WhatsApp accounts and carried out incidents like banking fraud. However, to avoid this, a new Flash call update is being provided by WhatsApp, which will help protect your WhatsApp account from hackers.

According to a WABeta report, your phone number will now be automatically verified with the help of WhatsApp’s new feature ‘Flash Call.’ This means users will no longer need OTP for account verification, the 6-digit OTP verification number from which hacking was done.

With the advent of the new WhatsApp Flash Call, the account will be verified with the help of Flash Call instead of OTP when users log in. For Flash Call, users will have to give permission to the app to log in to the phone. The account will then be automatically logged in when a flash call for WhatsApp verification arrives on the phone.

This feature of WhatsApp has been spotted on Android Beta version 2.21.11.7. However, the Flash Call feature of WhatsApp verification will be optional.

For better safety and security, this feature is surely going to help the users as OTP is still required for various services, most of the companies are getting this new style of scam and hacking, and in the future, maybe in other apps you’ll see this calling feature, the company never make this thing compulsory it is your decision how you want to use the app, 2-factor authentication is still there, but most of the people are not using the same, because they don’t need this right now, it’s their personal choice. Still, for safety and security, WhatsApp made a great decision by launching this new update considering the scam which is hampering the reputation of this very popular messaging app. This feature is optional as if you don’t want to give permission to WhatsApp for your call logs, then you don’t accept it, but for safety and security, business account owners will surely be going to accept it.

Let’s hope people will feel more secure and safe in this new and digital world where users don’t want to compromise on safety and security.
