Cars have more options in the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment. One of them was the Wuling Conference, which was very attractive to car consumers because of its relatively affordable price of 150 million rupiah. The existence of cars from Bamboo Curtain Country is undoubtedly a curse for its players, one of which is the Toyota Avenza’s one million cars, the cheapest version of which sells for Rp180m. The price difference between the Wuling Confero and the Toyota Avinanza is huge. Can it compete? View the comparison.
The new Avanza and the new Veloz were officially launched on January 15, 2019.
From the heart of Paju, both cars have four-cylinder engines with a 1.5-liter displacement and rear-wheel drive. Only the Avanza engine produces less power, 102 Tk at 6,000 RPM and 136 nM at 4,200 RPM. The Wuling Confero produces 106 tK of power at 5,800 RPM and 142 nM of peak torque at 3,800 to 4,400 RPM.
In its first year, Toyota sold 43, 000 of the Avanza.
From the outside, the performance difference between the two cars is not obvious. However, by saving output, the Avanza is considered more fuel efficient than the Confero. In its first year, Toyota sold 43, 000 of the Avanza. The dimensions of the Toyota Avanza are 4,190 mm long, 1,660 mm wide and 1,695 mm high. This Toyota flagship MPV features a timeless, charming and modern design. Not many changes have been made to the Toyota Avanza since its inception, and the stern appears unchanged compared to previous versions. Just the look changed a bit, and the LED lights were changed to make them look more attractive and modern. The Confero S size has a maximum length of 4,530 mm, width of 1,691 mm and height of 1,730 mm. The Chinese MPV offers a body with a high roof like the MPV, and its design is tailored for the Indonesian market. At the bottom, black plastic is nailed down like a cross, and a roof rack is attached to the roof to prepare for carrying items on top. The car also comes with projection lights and LED DRL, which combine to make it look more attractive. Even at the stern, there is a rear fog light, which is not available in its competitors.
The all-new Wuling Cono S interior
When it comes to interiors, the Wuling Confero S is more waiting in the wings when it comes to seat flexibility. The Confero’s most expensive type was wrapped in a semi-leather seat, with an optional captain’s seat in the second row. The car also has a third row seat that can accommodate three passengers. The three seatbelts available in the third row of seats can prove this. Unfortunately, the rear seats only offer two headrests. The Cono S also comes equipped with a multimedia entertainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen that can be connected to a smartphone via USB or Bluetooth for full control. At the same time, the Toyota Avanza offers a standard interior without being luxurious. The decoration used in the Avanza is still made of common fabric, which is considered easy to stain. But in terms of entertainment, the Avanza is equipped with almost the same multimedia equipment as the Confero. See photos of Toyota’s Avanza Veloz remodel.
Compared with the Toyota Avanza, safety features were the Confero’s focus.
This is because the front and rear disc brakes of the China-made MPV are supported by front and rear parking sensors, parking cameras, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) or a tire pressure gauge. Note, however, that some security features are found only in the most expensive Confero variants. As for the latest Avanza, it is equipped with dual front SRS airbags and ABS brakes. Conclusion On the whole, Wuling Confero does have many advantages over AVANZA. Even so, there are a number of factors car buyers need to consider before choosing a Cono. Such as brand strength, resale price and after-sales service.
