Cyprus' President Nicolas Anastasiades said he expects the launch of the integrated resort City of Dreams Mediterranean to bring “a clear benefit to the country's economy” to help increase the entry of tourists and create new jobs. 경마사이트프로

Anastasiades (pictured, right) added, “It would be no exaggeration to say that the casino has opened a new era for our country by creating a new prospect of strengthening Cyprus's position on international tourism maps.”

City of Dreams Mediterranean will be operated by Melco Cyprus, a venture between international casino operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Cyprus-based conglomerate Pasuri (Zakaki) Ltd. The partnership holds a 30-year exclusive license for its jurisdiction.

Melco Cyprus already operates a temporary casino in Limasol under the brand “C2”. It also operates satellite casinos in Nicosia, Ayanapa and Papos under license terms.

Mr Anastasiades' comments were cited in a press release published by the Melco Group and were made during a pre-visit to the City of Dreams Mediterranean. Addressing guests, Ho said Melco Resort's ambition is that “City of Dreams Mediterranean becomes the flagship of the island's tourism products and one of the main contributors to Cyprus's economic growth.”

Melco Resorts reiterated in its latest announcement that it is expected to open the property “in the second quarter of this year.”

The venue includes casino facilities, a 500-room hotel tower, shops, restaurants, sports venues, outdoor amphitheaters, “Family Adventure Park”, conference and exhibition spaces.
