Organizing own production boats requires a relatively large starting capital (according to some sources, from 3-5 million rubles) and, not least, the presence of great knowledge and experience in this field. The production of such products is a complex and time consuming process. It can take several months to develop a model, including design, sample production and testing.
Inflatable boats are used by hunters, tourists and just vacationers. They are relatively reliable, compact, easy to operate and inexpensive.
Inflatable boats are rowing and motorized. The difference is in their design. The first ones are quite simple and cheap. Their sides are usually divided into several compartments, which gives them greater safety: even if a compartment is damaged, the boat will not sink. The bottom (payola) of the boat is semi-rigid and rigid. In the first case, plastic or plywood is inserted into it, and in the second case, it is completely reinforced with plywood or a light alloy plate. In addition, sometimes, to make the hull more rigid, it is equipped with a rigid bench, which is installed between the sides. In addition to this or in its place, inflatable pillows are also used as chairs.
From the first type of boats, the models with external engine differ significantly in design. The nature of the differences depends on the power of the engine installed and the operating conditions of a particular model. The main difference between these boats and rowing boats is the presence of a rigid crossbar on which the engine is installed and stronger elements for its hull attachment.
Boats with a small engine of up to 2-3 horsepower have either an inflatable bottom or reinforced with transverse rails. They, like conventional inflatable boats, can be easily folded into a carrying case. Boats with a more powerful engine are equipped with hard floors.
Inflatable boat production technology

All these materials differ in properties and operating conditions. Most boats are domestically produced and the cylinders for them are made of reinforced PVC. Because pure polyvinyl chloride is a non-plastic substance, polyurethane is added during production. There are such types of PVC fabrics as fabrics, special for boats and construction. The special PVC material “boat” has several advantages. It is resistant to dirt, abrasion and UV radiation. It is quite easy to repair if the boat suddenly spills. The only negative: this material is not well suited for local coloring. It can be painted only completely and only in the production stage: special dyes are added to polyvinyl chloride.
The second most popular material in our country that is used for boat production is rubber material. Its main advantage is the low price. Unfortunately, among the deficiencies, the experts note a slight resistance to discoloration, abrasion, susceptibility to degradation, etc.
Unreinforced PVC boats are mainly produced by western companies. They are cheap, light and easy to use. Disadvantages include the ability of this material to stretch under the influence of high temperatures, poor elasticity at low temperatures and low strength. It should also be noted that if the technology of gluing seams is used in the production of ordinary inflatable boats, then in the manufacture of unreinforced PVC models, the seams of the boat are glued, which increases its reliability.
