Osteoarthritis is a condition that affects the movement of cats. It often occurs among senior cats. However, any cat can develop osteoarthritis (OA).

OA affects forty per cent of the cat population. It is painful and has a significant effect on a cat's daily life. A cat with OA might not be able to run fast again or jump from a high place. Take preventive measures to prevent your cat from developing this condition as early as possible.

If you notice any changes in your cat's behaviour, especially regarding her physical activities, get her checked. It is the best way to determine whether she has OA or not. If she unluckily has OA; plan with your vet what would be the best way to improve her quality of life despite having the condition.

Often, veterinarians prescribe supplements and medication. However, there are also therapies that your dog can attend. If you have to adjust some things at home, please do so for the betterment of your cat.

Your veterinarian San Diego, CA can enlighten you about important health issues that can affect your pet.
