Tie-dye is a fun and exciting way to make your t-shirts more vibrant. You can tie dye pretty much any kind of fabric, from T-shirts to hoodies and more.  While tie-dye patterns can seem difficult, most are quite easy to pull off. With a little practice and lots of 1-dollar T-shirts, you’ll be able to tie-dye anything in any color scheme you can imagine. Here are some of the most popular tie-dye patterns that you should know about!

Single Spiral

The single spiral is the most traditional tie-dye pattern. You can differentiate it by its single, continuous spiral of dye. To get this tie-dye pattern, start by folding the shirt into a tight coil. Then, wrap a string around the center of the coil to secure it. Dip the shirt into a bucket of dye, and let it soak up the dye completely. Rinse and unfold the cloth and you should see a single spiral of color.

Bullseye

To tie dye a bullseye pattern, you should lay the fabric on a flat surface and pinch it at the center, to create a cone shape. Place rubber bands around the cone, spacing them evenly separated. The number of rubber bands to use will depend on how many circles want in the design.

Stripes

This tie-dye pattern is a straightforward but cool design. There are multiple variations of the patterns – with stripes that are diagonal, horizontal, or vertical. To tie dye the stripes pattern, start by making a series of folds in the fabric. The folds should be alternated so that each one is pointing in the opposite direction. Be sure to fold the fabric in the direction you want the stripes to go.

There is a multitude of tie-dye patterns you can try- such as crumbles, box folds, zig-zags, and more. Some are easy, some take effort, and some are best saved until you master the basics to an absolute tee. That said,  if you enjoy wearing but don’t want to get your hands dirty, the best option is to shop tie-dye shirts wholesale.
