Jason Roy has been left out of England's team for the T20 World Cup in October and their T20 tour of Pakistan later this month following a deprived run of form with the bat.

Roy has writhed this summer, scoring just 78 runs in six T20 internationals, averaging 12.66. He also began his Hundred movement for the Oval Unbeatable with three ducks in four innings. Phil Salt, who has played four T20Is and eight one-day internationals scoring his maiden century against the Netherlands in June has been called in both squads and could take Roy's place alongside white-ball skipper Jos Buttler at the top of the order, or there could be raised the order for Jonny Bairstow.

There was no international memory for Alex Hales, who hasn't played for England since deteriorating during a recreational medications test in 2019.

I associate him with Symonds: Ponting backs beginner to fire Aussies to World Cup final

England Vs Australia: Ricky Ponting trusts India is the standout T20 team in the world and expects the cricket powerhouse nation to meet defensive champions Australia in the final of next month’s tournament Down Under. Australia revealed their 15-man squad for the tournament on Thursday, which comprises uncapped 26-year-old, Tim David.

Ponting trusts David can have the same devastating influence as Andrew Symonds did in 2003 when the batting all-rounder had his coming-of-age instant and never looked back. The former Australian captain also admitted that if skipper Aaron Finch continued to fail, the pressure is just going to base. Much has altered since Australia won its maiden T20 World Cup almost 10 months ago.

For starters, Justin Langer has moved on as coach, with Andrew McDonald controlling the experienced squad. And while they were underdogs going into the tournament last year, with the circumstances largely foreign to where Australia generally thrives and a struggling team that had missed a number of its heavy batters in the lead-in matches, McDonald’s side is very established.

“I think the main motive they were underdogs was it was more about the circumstances than whatever else,” Ponting expressed to foxsports.com.au. They had a really good squad going into that World Cup. I think we fear the Indians and Pakistanis, and those teams in those circumstances, and Australia were just good enough, and all sort of fell in line for them perfectly on that tour to play countless cricket.

 Ricky Ponting

I think India is the standout T20 squad in the world because of the complexity of talent that they’ve got and how many guys that they can just keep delivering in and out of that side and they save winning. “They’ll play these circumstances well. We’ve seen in the last twosome of years that they’ve played, even now they’re playing Australian circumstances well, so I’ve got Australia and India in the final.” The major anxiety heading into the tournament is the lack of form from Finch at the top of the instruction.

Nor is it a new object either.

For 18 months Finch has been stressed, with his form woes first coming to a head during the 2020-21 Big Bash, where he achieved just 179 runs at 13.76. Since 2021, the 35-year-old has achieved just five half-centuries from his past 26 matches. While in ODIs, Finch has had 4 ducks in his past nine innings. Ponting, who too struggled at the backend of his career for constancy, said Australia would be reluctant to move on from Finch at this late stage but confessed he wanted a score or two of note to firm up his place.

“Well, he had a practical series the one before (this Zimbabwe series), didn’t he?” Ponting said. And it would have been under more weight at the start than he was at the end. I mean, there’s no doubt he’s had his ups and downs, perhaps more downs the last 12 months than ups but the balls are in his court.

“I mean, if he lasts to fail, the pressure is just going to last to mount. But if he turns up with a few good presentations from here until then, then I think they’ll stick with him.” For months Ponting has been impressed by David, who like Australia T20 World Cup Player David Warner has taken a sole path to the Australian team. After struggling to gain traction in Australia, David has emerged and bloomed in overseas T20 tournaments and been called into the squad on the back of his match-winning appearances.

Ponting, who will work alongside David for the Hobart Hurricanes in this summer’s Big Bash competition, said the Singapore-born Australian could show to be a match-winner if given opportunities. “It was only a pair of periods ago he was struggling to get a game in the BBL and now he’s one of the more sought-after T20 batsmen in the world,” Ponting said. I saw them up near in one in the IPL this year, and some of the influence he had on a few of those games (was overwhelming). To know more about New Zealand Vs Australia Tickets click here.

Andrew Symonds actually for the 2003 World Cup

“In every competition, he’s played he’s continuing to get better and better, and I associate him to a bit like Andrew Symonds actually for the 2003 World Cup. “I compute if you get him in and give him a go, he’s one of those guys who could not just win you one or two competitions, he could win you a contest so that I’m sure they’re lucid about him,” Ponting added that he was a big fan of Josh Philippe and Josh Inglis.

$1.5m gentleman finally earns call-up, the unsuccessful star dropped as Australia T20 World Cup squad revealed

England Vs Australia: Australia has revealed its 15-player squad for next month’s T20 World Cup campaign, with Hobart Hurricanes batter Tim David earning a long-awaited national call-up. Aaron Finch’s men will look to recall the trophy on home soil this summer after becoming T20 world champions for the first time in the United Arab Emirates last year.

The Aussies have made one change to its successful squad from last year’s tournament, with David replacing Queensland leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson. This is a similar team to that which became the first Australian men’s team to win a T20 World Cup, who are now very happy about playing the tournament at home, chairman of selectors George Bailey said in a declaration.

Mitchell Swepson was unsuccessful to miss out based on conditions in the UAE at the last T20 World Cup where we planned for tired, spinning wickets compared to what we would expect are good batting circumstances along with the larger estates in Australia. Tim (David) lasts to find himself with some quality performances in leagues around the world, making a place in the team.

He is an extremely gifted, natural ball striker who will add extra batting complexity to the group which has had a lot of success in T20 cricket in recent times. We expect him to play an alike role to that he has been playing in the past few years. As stated by The Age, David will represent Australia as an uncontracted freelancer on match expenditures, affording him greater latitude to play short-format leagues overseas.

Tim David

The T20 globetrotter is on the verge of connecting an illustrious list of cricketers, headlined by David Warner, to make their Australian entrance before playing any first-class cricket. David, who has represented Singapore in 14 T20 internationals, has been one of the most unhelpful short-format cricketers over the past twosome of years, plying his trade in several domestic competitions including the Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League, and Caribbean Premier League.

The 26-year-old, who was born in Singapore but elevated in Western Australia, was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for a whopping AU$1.53 million at this year’s IPL auction, making larger bids than Australian stars Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Marsh. David scored 186 runs for Mumbai this year, averaging 37.20 with the bat at a strike rate of 216.27 nobody scored more IPL runs in 2022 at an improved strike rate.

The powerful right-hander, who averages a boundary every 4.5 balls, became just the third cricketer to finish an IPL campaign with more than 100 runs and a strike rate better than 200, joining short-format folklores Brendon McCullum and Andre Russell. David’s aptitude to clear the boundary rope without soaking up deliveries at the crease is priceless, and national selectors would be tempted to slot him into the starting XI at the expenditure of Steve Smith or Marcus Stoinis.

The prospect of David and Australian stalwart Glenn Maxwell joining militaries in the middle-order is a mouth-watering view for any cricket fan. Speaking to reporters in July, the legendary colors, comparing the uncapped cricketer to a former colleague. “The way he’s altered his game over the last pair of years is quite remarkable,” the Hurricanes’ Head of Plan said.

T20 World Cup

It was only a couple of seasons ago that he was stressed to get a game in the Perth Scorchers line-up. It’s astonishing what happens to players when they come to the Hurricanes, how much they improve. He’s been incredible in almost every competition that he’s played around the world in the last 12-18 months. He’s one player that we’re extremely excited about.

I think there’s a chance for him to hopefully take on a bit more accountability in the batting line-up with the Hurricanes this period as well, because of his consistency and his match-winning aptitude. We don’t want to waste that we don’t want to have him sitting on his hobbies too long. He’s a very good, very unsafe T20 player that I’m sure the Australian choosers are thinking long and hard about for the T20 World Cup in a couple of months.

If I was a chooser, I would love to have a superstar like that in my team he’s an out-and-out match-winner. He’s the sort of player that can win you a World Cup. He repeats me a bit of Andrew Symonds back in the 2003 World Cup. You know that if you get him in and give him a chance, they’re a chance of winning the competition for you. I know there are some other great world-quality players in the middle order for Australia, but probably none of them claims a resume as good as Tim’s over the last two years.
