International students planning to pursue higher education in New Zealand must first apply for an offer from a reliable education provider. There are three different types of education providers in the country: private Training Establishments, the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology, and Universities.
To study in New Zealand, there is a minimum English requirement to fulfil. There are lots of standardized English proficiency tests that the education providers in the country accept. The details are listed on the NZQA website and Rule 18. Usually, program level 9-10 applicants must score a minimum of 6.5 in every band of the IELTS examination.
