Being a mom of two children, I feel Cricut between two children. They gave the lovely personalized coffee mugs and Starbucks gift cards to their teachers. Then the teachers start thinking about the gifts. Or the volunteer who had to tie-die the T-shirts of the soccer team. The team’s name on the back of the T-shirts is also neatly ironed. Or the time of girls’ night out, one who takes the responsibility of the girls. And also, gift attendees with a vodka glass which looks like it is purchased from Etsy shop.

What is Cricut Explore 3?

If the Cricut is available in local areas or any other craft supply store, then the machine has to become highly popular. This machine is available in three models that are Cricut Joy, Explore series and Maker series. It just looks like a normal printer. But it is a very smart die cutter. This machine can cut more than 100 materials – vinyl, cork, delicate foils, glitter paper, fabric, cardstock, or even balsa wood – all at very high speed. All cuts are used to create greetings cards, signs, iron-on, stickers, and more comforts about the home.

To use Explorer 3, you will need to invest in new Smart Materials. But it cost some extra bucks, and you got the additional good news: they feed directly into the machine. They work twice as fast as their precursor. They can make the projects a whopping 12 feet long and 12 inches wide. That is great for banners, porch signs, or cutting many logos at once to make numerous iron-on T-shirts for family reunions. This machine also provides pen features to draw designs, fonts, and patterns on your materials.

First Look

It is hilarious to call the cutting machine is too cute, but the Explore 3 comes at the wonderful shades right out of the box and, of soft mint green, just made us happy. This machine is very easy to handle because of its lightweight. It requires small space because they are 5.9 inches high by 7 inches deep, 22.2 inches wide, and weighs 11 pounds. It has some extra things like a docking store to handle a phone or tablet.

This machine is straightforward to use. You just need to plug it in and connect it wirelessly via Bluetooth or a USB cord plugging. You have to need a few sheets of practice equipment and a fine-point blade in the box. But you have to download the company’s app, Windows and Mac. It has a large selection of images, fonts and is ready to do your projects, and also allows uploading your images. If you plan to use Cricut on a daily basis, you’ll subscribe and purchase the monthly Cricut Access for $9.99. You have to take advantage of Cricut Access because you are free to use 200,000 plus images, 700 plus fonts, and more, plus 10% of exclusive deals on cricut.com.

The Smart Materials of Explore 3 are smartly designed for rolls and sheets of vinyl, iron-on paper, cardstock. These all directly fed into the Explore 3 feeder without mat, as other Cricut version requires. We found a 3-foot roll of permanent Smart Vinyl for $4.79, a pack of Smart Paper Sticker Cardstock for $8.39, and a 3-foot roll Smart Iron-On on sale for $8.99.

There are many types of materials available you have to need to choose “Weed” and “Burnish.” Their many Essentials Tools Set are blades, pens, markers, roll holders, heat presses, and much more tools available. Crafting is an expensive hobby.

Taking Cricut Explore 3 to the Test

When you first set up your Explore 3, you have to follow the instructions and perform the practice split it with ease. And you have to complete a mini-project to make a simple sticker.

I used to design many things with the help of Explore 3. One of my kids has picked a Dinosaur and just designed or printed it. It was super easy to create anything. To cut the Yellow vinyl sticker, I quickly peeled extra vinyl away and, after that, used the “Weeder” tool to move out any small pieces left behind. And next, I covered that with a transfer tape that stuck to the vinyl and burnished it with a small tool that simulated a food scraper. Finally, I peeled off the tape, and the sticker stayed put-even after sprinting to the dishwasher.

Then it was time to do an Iron-On Transfer. I take some additional images and then follow the prompts. And the same procedure is used to get the printed pictures. Once I peeled and weeded out the extra, I easily ironed it on a prewashed T-shirt for 30 seconds. It worked wonderfully.

I decided to try my own design for any other iron-on shirt. I used Photoshop, and I figured out the design. Exactly 2-hour later, I was about to throw in the blankets. But thankfully, I ultimately go on a YouTube tutorial that helps me to do the project.

The moral of the story is that you have to watch the tutorial of the Cricut Explore 3 if you are not a master of using this type of machine.

Conclusion

After the first two cuts and peels, I am scared about the result; that’s why I dropped it. And now I feel like Martha, who in reality doesn’t rely on this world. I’m happily cutting the sticker and designing a greeting card with my children.

Yes, if you use the Cricut Explore 3, they take some serious patience to go to the custom design. This machine is costly because it is a $300 device, plus all the equipment, tools, and subscription fees. But if you are interested in crafting, then you have a great option to use your hobbies for entertaining people.
