The Ford Ranger is a mid-sized vehicle for anyone who enjoys off road travel. If you're looking for a pickup truck that's tough, reliable and comfortable, you might want to look into a Ranger. There are many advantages to owning one, many of which will be discussed below. However, there are a few disadvantages that should be considered as well.

The Ford Ranger is one of the most dependable small trucks on the market. As mentioned above, hundreds of thousands of Rangers were sold over the past few years, many of which were outright hits. Those great sales and excellent PR were probably what got Ford Rangers into such great demand as soon as they hit the market.

Ford Ranger: Design

Ford Ranger has an excellent cab design, with plenty of storage space behind the wheel and enough room in the bed to haul at least a medium sized truck or hitch carrier. This means that even people who aren't big on towing or extra cargo can make use of a Ford Ranger, as it will tow pretty much anything at all that's large enough to fit into it.

The biggest weakness of the Ford Ranger however is the handling ability, and the lack of a four wheel drive makes it far more likely that a tow truck would prove far too much for this little family sedan.

Ford also offers a Ranger Coupe, which is virtually the same vehicle as the Ranger, save for the fact that it has a shorter bed. The coupe shares the same body styles as the other models, including a massive hood that flares out in a dramatic manner.

As with the other models, the Ford Ranger features front air vents and a black interior, but it does get a bit more special edition trim package than the rest of the Ford compact pickups. One of these unique exterior trims is actually a custom hood with lifted lip that directs rain water away from the windshield.

Ford Ranger: Engines

At present, the Ford Ranger is offered in two different types of engines – a standard model and a turbocharged 2.3-liter version. While the standard truck comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission, the Ranger's turbocharged engine produces power that's slightly faster than a truck with a manual transmission.

Ford engineers did leave the door open for possible future changes to the turbocharged Ranger, including an extended cowl, a wider wheelbase, and even a release of a sportier model type.

Ford Ranger: Warranty

No matter what model lines you're interested in, you'll certainly be able to find a truck that appeals to you. If you love the Ranger, you're in luck, as Ford has continued to support its current generation of models. You can currently purchase a Ford Ranger with a warranty that covers up to ten years, and even your current model year.

If you buy a Ranger now, you'll soon see improved power, better reliability, and even better performance on the road. The future looks very bright for this Ford truck.

Ford Ranger: Cargo Space

In terms of cargo space, the Ford Ranger midsize pickup truck offers 5.0 cubic feet of space behind the cab, which is nearly twice as much as the next best Ford vehicle, the Ford C-MAX.

This is great news for Ford truck lovers as they can now haul even more cargo with a little bit of work. The Ford Ridgeline however, offers a little more space behind the cab that is just enough to handle a medium sized load. Either one will get the job done, but which one will you choose?

Ford Ranger: Verdict

The Ford Ranger continues to grow in popularity as people continue to own this pickup truck. Even with the current issues with the Ford Focus, Ford is still one of the most popular vehicles on the automotive scene.

Although there are some concerns regarding the performance of the Focus, the Ranger continues to score well when it comes to passenger comfort and reliability. As consumers, we all want to drive vehicles that make our daily lives easier, and this is just one of the ways that Ford is addressing consumer needs.
