Giant Schnauzers will not be referred to as “giants” if they do not come in humongous sizes. These pups are the largest among the three Schnauzer breeds. Their intimidating size is one of the reasons why these dogs make excellent watchdogs. But does this case mean these dogs cannot play or interact with kids and other animals?

Experts say Giant Schnauzers are ideal companions of older kids (aged 12 years and up) because of their commanding demeanour, high energy level, and, yes, size. In addition, older kids are mature enough to know how to behave well around overwhelming pups. Young children tend to make noise a lot and do naughty things, which the Giant Schnauzers may not like.

How about interaction with other dogs and pets? The answer is no – Giant Schnauzers do not do well with both. They tend to be aggressive when surrounded by other animals.
