The new independent options have been included in the Voice Assistant’s Settings menu’s popular settings category. Previously, this option could be found on the All Settings tab.

The search engine company has now come up with standalone settings for several Google Assistant features. For example, the voice and video calling option users now get has been replaced by communications. In addition, there are distinct sections for photographs and videos in the app settings. Google is attempting to get people to use the virtual assistant as much as possible without having to unlock their phones.
Changes to new version of Google app
The 9to5Google informed about the standalone lock screen settings for Google Assistant. The new standalone settings are available in Google App version 12.24, and users will need to update their apps. To access them, users must first visit the All Settings menu, then to the popular Settings section, which displays lock screen options. This option is available to users between languages and personalization settings.
When users activate a new feature for the first time, they are greeted with a message and instructions on how to access it. Even if the phone is locked, customers will be able to use the assistant hands-free, according to the company. ” Turn on voice match and verify your voice by saying “Hey Google” while calling or messaging a contact for personal work.
Enabling Lock screen feature
After going to Settings, you have to tap the ‘Yes, I’m in’ button in the bottom right corner. Now two toggles associated with assistant responses will be shown on the lock screen. The first toggle gets enabled, it will respond to voice commands given by the user. On the other hand, when the other sub-menu toggle is enabled, personal results will be activated without giving voice commands. Users will have to say ‘Hey/OK Google’ to activate the assistant.
The search engine company had also come up with new settings in Google Assistant last month. The new ‘Your Apps’ settings will now help the assistant learn about his likes and dislikes from different apps on the user’s phone.
Google Assistant in Driving Mode
The driving mode of Google Assistant is now being rolled out in several countries, including India. The mode was available only in the US so far, and now users from India, Australia, Great Britain, Ireland, India, and Singapore will also be able to use it. Google said, “With the help of driving mode, users can use a lot of features without leaving the navigation screen, so users will be able to pay more attention to the road while driving.”
