These days working in the aviation industry is a dream of every youngster. They set their aim and work hard to become an air hostess or flight steward. And this is all because of the perks and facilities provided by this industry to its employees. They are paid well, get to live a high-profile glamorous life, travel around the world, and meet new people, many times get the opportunity to meet their favourite celebrities, learn life skills, and much more.

The people who are not aware of the responsibilities of the cabin crew members mostly find the job very enticing and easy. But behind the scenes, they have very serious duties and responsibilities to fulfil with complete sincerity and efforts to win the heart of every passenger. The skills may be inbuilt but appropriate training is always necessary for the employees which is given at the cabin crew training institute.

If you are less aware of the things taught in the cabin crew training institute, let us have a look at it in detail then.

  • Cabin Crew Roles & Responsibilities

It may look easy and attractive to people, but there is a big list of the roles and responsibilities of cabin crew members. They have to start by greeting the passengers when they enter the airline, explaining all the safety rules to everyone, providing them with all the assistance during their journey, serving them drinks and refreshments as per the rule of the airline, help the elderly if needed, provide basic medical assistance to the needy and always be alert during the entire journey.

  • Knowledge about Aircraft Specifics

The cabin crew must be aware of all the details related to the interior and exterior of the aircraft they are working on. They are taught about cabin configurations, general exits, emergency exits, emergency equipment present on the aircraft, layout, galleys, flight deck familiarization, and all the other basic things. It is important to educate crew members about these basic things so that in time of emergency they can handle the situation without panicking.

  • All Procedures Related to Safety and Emergency

An air hostess needs to know all the necessary information related to safety and emergency. This is the most difficult yet crucial part of cabin crew training. The cabin crew members are trained about how to evacuate the flight at the time of emergency, handle fire on the flight, decompression, jump from the slides of the aircraft, open emergency exit doors, manage passengers, etc. This includes too much effort, sincerity, and practice to understand the complete procedure thoroughly.

  • Customer Service

As the job is all about serving the customer, proper training is provided to them from serving to greeting the customers impressively. During the flight, they are taught about serving the customers of the economy and business class.

  • First Aid Service

They are taught basic first aid skill which includes techniques of CPR, use of a defibrillator, and even delivering babies. In times of emergency, the staff always have a basic medical kit with them so that they can help the passenger until they reach the airport.
