The Safety Awareness course is essential to prevent any risks involved in water jetting. WJT’s safety awareness course covers:

  1. Application & Machines: You will be briefed about the cleaning & surface preparation, precision & volume removal, the effect of varying pressure, range of varying Jetting machines, and configurations & categories.

  2. Legislation & The WJA Codes of Practice: You will be taken through the WJA codes of practice which are status, use, and recognition by the Health & Safety executive, and management regulations.

  3. Jetting Equipment – Nozzles: It is of utmost importance that you understand the jet principles. Understanding the purpose of nozzles, power of water jet, jet pressure, jet reaction force and types of nozzles.

  4. Jetting Equipment – Pumps: Pump is one of the important to understand the pump configuration, positive displacement action, operating features, effects of blockage, a variation of plunger sizes and other pump configurations.

  5. Jetting Equipment – Pressure Controls: You need to know the dump & dry shut controls, fail-safe, direct manual operation, hydraulic controls, pressure regulators and automatic off-load engine speed control systems.

  6. Jetting Equipment – High-Pressure Hose: To promote absolute safety at work it is essential that you understand the hose construction and pressure ratings, external & internal damage possibilities, hazards arising from damaged hoses, and the importance of inspection requirements. You will also be taken through the hose and fittings, the types & features, hose for different flows, and so on. 

  7. Water Jetting Hazards: In case any hazards arising from the water jet, the operational regime or site environment, so that you are well prepared for it.

  8. Water Jetting Injuries: Understand the impact caused by the high-pressure water jet, nature of internal injuries caused and action in event of a jetting injury.

  9. Personal Protection Equipment: It is of utmost importance that you understand how to protect yourself while water jetting. This safety awareness course will make you aware of the general principles of using a PPE, main body protection, particular requirements when using UHP. 

  10. Operational Procedures: Routine care & inspection, site preparations, site preparations, team operation and preparations for the operation, safety points during operation, and safe use of non-standard equipment.
