iPads are very cool gadgets that help you perform day to day digital functions. But what if you are performing one of those functions such as browsing the internet and suddenly, your iPad begins to freeze?

Battling with a frozen iPad can be very annoying. But don’t worry. we have simple remedies to sort out your frozen iPad.

How to fix a frozen iPad

1. Restart the iPad

This is probably the first thing you should think of once you have issues with your iPad. A simple reboot of the iPad is usually enough to cure the problem. This is an extraordinary method to flush the memory the iPad utilizes for dynamic applications and an astounding method to close down and applications that are causing issues.

To do this, just hold down the Sleep/Wake button at the top of the iPad and the round Home button at the bottom.

2. Delete that app

Sometimes, the problem is with the apps we have. After restarting the device, what if the issue persists? You may have realized that your iPad begins to lag/freeze only when you open a particular app.

With this, the only solution left is to delete the app. You can do this by pressing your finger on the icon and holding it until an X appears in the top right-hand corner of the app. Touching this X button will delete the app.

In case you still need the app after it is deleted, you can still get it from the app store. The app store has a tab called “purchased” that will bring up all of your previously-downloaded apps.

3. Restore your frozen iPad’s factory settings

Looking at the radical nature of this move, it has to be the last solution you would think of. If all the above methods fail, this is what you should do.

Probably, there are a lot of hidden files and settings that will take you quite some time to change and delete manually. So restoring your factory settings will clear all of these and more (even your apps and media). You can restore to Factory Default by going into iTunes, choosing your iPad from the devices list and clicking the Restore button. This can be easier when you have a back-up or have synced you iPad to another device.
