ATLANTA, GA, OCTOBER 20, 2023 – The 50th BET Hip Hop Awards, a historic celebration of half a century of hip-hop, took place on October 3, and the event was nothing short of legendary. Hosted by the iconic Fat Joe, the awards show honored the pioneers and innovators of the genre, bringing together some of the biggest names in the industry.
Connie Orlando, BET's EVP specials, music programming & music strategy, was elated for the nominees and expressed it as much, stating, “We are honored by this year's roster of nominees as they continue to carry the creativity and diversity of hip hop into the future. This year's nominees featured some of the hottest names in hip-hop, with 21 Savage and Cardi B leading the pack with 12 nominations each. Notable nominees included Latto, Burna Boy, Lil Uzi Vert, and Coi Leray.
