After it was reported that the latest generation of the Honda HR-V or also known as the Honda Vezel in Japan, will be coming soon in April 2021, in Malaysia, the Honda HR-V is actually getting a refresher. Honda HR-V 2021 with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

In the previous type, the Honda HR-V circulating in Malaysia did not yet have the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features available. In the latest facelift, now all variants get a 7-inch touch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. And there are also two USB connections in the middle of the Honda HR-V.

Meanwhile, the Honda HR-V in Indonesia still adheres to the old model audio system without the connectivity features of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, even though the three highest variants have already gotten an 8-inch head unit with a parking camera. It is not impossible, before getting the latest generation Honda HR-V 2021, a similar refresh will also be obtained by the HR-V in Indonesia. Other changes are also seen in the three-spoke steering wheel, which is now wrapped in leather, different from the previous one which used a leather-urethane mixture.

In addition, specifically for the Honda HR-V, the Sport Hybrid variant has experienced changes in the headlight sector. If previously using a halogen bulb projector model, now it is adopting LED technology lamps starting from the main lights, fog lamps and taillights. In Indonesia the HR-V 1.5L E CVT Special Edition and 1.8L Prestige have also received LED lights.

Still on the exterior, the Honda HR-V facelift in Malaysia gets chrome clad door handles. In Malaysia, there is also a Platinum White Pearl color option, which at Honda City is the best-selling choice. This color replaces the White Orchard Pearl color option that was available previously. In Indonesia alone, the choice of black or white car color is the most popular option, almost 50% of consumers like it.

The Honda HR-V variant in Malaysia is only available in 4 types consisting of the Honda HR-V 1.8 E, Honda HR-V 1.8 V, Honda HR-V 1.8 RS and Honda HR-V 1.5 Sport Hybrid. The engine used in the Honda HR-V (E, V and RS) is a 1.8-liter engine that can produce 142 PS of power with 172 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT transmission. Meanwhile, the Honda HR-V Sport Hybrid uses a 1.5-liter engine with 152 PS with 190 Nm of torque combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch (DCT) automatic transmission.
