And OBS or Open Broadcaster Software is all you need. This article includes a step-by-step process to livestream on YouTube using OBS. So, let’s see the guide on how to livestream on YouTube with OBS.

  • To get your YouTube stream key, you will need to make a YouTube account. So, if you haven’t created one, first create one.
  • To livestream on YouTube, you will have to verify your account using the linked phone number. To do so, visit https://www.youtube.com/verify, sign in to your account, and use the on-screen directions.
  • After getting your account verified, you can proceed toward YouTube Studio. To find YouTube Studio, visit https://www.youtube.com/create_channel or hit on the Camera icon on YouTube and choose Go Live. You can do it in the app itself or install the YouTube Studio app.
  • Next, you have to choose Stream and ensure that settings are right. You should also check that you have written the title and description of the video properly. One last thing, you have to check that you have set the video visibility to Public.
  • On the web version, choose Live Streaming and then select Stream Now to start.
  • After you are ready, choose Create Stream.
  • After starting streaming, you will see a control panel with many tools like settings, analytics, etc.
  • You will find the Stream Settings tab by default. You have to look at the label to locate the stream key required for OBS. Use the Copy button to copy the 16-digit string. You can also get the string by clicking on the Reveal eyeball button. Don’t share this number with anyone else.
