Airplay lets you stream audio or a video wirelessly on a big screen such as a TV from any of your Apple devices. All you need to have is the same Wi-Fi connection for your small screen device and big screen device.
Videos can be streamed with Windows PC with the help of iTunes.
Here are some ways to stream your videos from your iPhone, Mac, and Windows to your TV:
Streaming Videos from an iPhone
The steps mentioned below are similar for iPhone and iPad, the only difference is the application you use to stream videos. Go with any of the two ways to stream videos on your TV:
If Airplay Button is available – TheAirplay button looks like an arrow pointed upwards. Tap on the ‘Airplay’ button when you open a video that you want to stream. For example, YouTube has an Airplay button at the bottom-right of the window.
If Airplay Button is unavailable – Tap on the Application’s sharing option and then click on the Airplay button in case you can’t see the Airplay button.
Next, tap on the device name you want to use Airplay mode with.
A code will be displayed on your TV, which you’ll have to enter on your mobile phone to connect and tap on ‘OK.’
Your video will be casted on your TV using Airplay.
If you want to stop playing your video on the TV, open the Airplay window and tap on iPhone from the list of devices. This will start playing your videos on your iPhone again.
Streaming Videos from Mac
The steps to stream a video on your TV are:
Open the video on your Mac, which you want to play on your TV.
Click on the Airplay button, the placement of this button varies from app to app.
From the list of devices, select the device you want to stream your video on.
The next window will ask you for the code that appears on your TV. Enter the code to connect.
If you want to stop streaming your videos on TV, tap on the Airplay button again and click ‘Turnoff Airplay.’
Streaming Videos from Windows
You can stream videos on your TV from Windows using iTunes. The steps to do the same are:
Open iTunes on your PC and play the video you want to stream.
On the bottom left of the screen, click on the Airplay button to start streaming.
Select the device you want to stream your videos on.
It may ask you to enter a code on your PC in the following window. If so, enter the code flashing on your TV.
Your video will start streaming on the TV.
To stop streaming on your television, tap on the ‘Airplay’ button, and select ‘My Computer’ from the list of devices.
