Differences between HPE Superdome X and HPE Superdome flex servers
HPE named the MC990X servers one of its largest builds, from the HPE SUPERDOME X series of servers. The Superdome X system had 16 sockets and 48 terabytes of RAM, while the Superdome flex was equipped with 32 sockets and 48 terabytes of RAM.
One of the big differences between the Superdome Flex and SuperDome X is that the Flex model uses a new generation Skylake processor. While the Mc990X and Superdome X use the older generation Broadwell.
Another advantage of Superdome flex is that it uses the Superdome flex protection system to protect memory, and the Memory-Driven Computing system that HPE used to extend the machine project.
