Rabbit owners can get a cat/dog, but choosing one will depend on your rabbit. Examine your rabbit's behavior and personality first. If she tends to get startled easily, it's more likely that a dog/cat will prey on her. Calm and easygoing rabbits are less likely to have a flight response and can do well with cats/dogs. If your rabbit had a successful interaction with cats/dogs during the first weeks of her life, she'd likely see the new pet as her friend.

It will be a plus if your new cat/dog has an experience with small animals like rabbits. If you can, it's best to get a young pup/kitty (ideally between 1-3 months old pups or 1-2 months old kittens), so the animal will know your rabbit during his/her prime socialization phase. During this period, the dog/cat is still learning which animals are friends. This will minimize the chances that the dog/cat will prey on these animal friends. Your local pet clinic Chesapeake VA can give you better assistance.
