 According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II “died peacefully” on Thursday when she was at the age of 96.

The British royal family’s estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, where she has been vacationing this summer, the news of her death came just hours after the palace announced that about her health the queen’s doctors were “concerned” and at Balmoral Castle were keeping her under “medical supervision”.

According to their respective spokespersons, members of the royal family, including the queen’s four children, quickly gathered by her side at Balmoral. She died that afternoon.

Elizabeth was Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. She ascended to the throne in 1952 and celebrated her Platinum Jubilee in June, marking 70 years as queen. 

Charles, Prince of Wales, her eldest son, on the British throne as king will take his mother’s place. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Charles’ wife, will become known as queen consort.

From Wednesday until Monday, Sept. 19 in state at Westminster Hall, on how members of the public can pay their respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II the U.K. government has released details.

On the day of the queen’s funeral starting at 5 p.m. local time on Wednesday until 6:30 a.m., members of the public will be able to file past the coffin 24 hours a day on Sept. 19.

For long hours the government advised the public to expect to wait in line, “possibly overnight,” and that there would be “airport-style security” and only small bags permitted, on what can be taken inside as well as restrictions.

The White House said, to attend Queen Elizabeth’s funeral on Sept. 19 at Westminster Abbey in London President Joe Biden has formally accepted an invitation.  

In Edinburgh, following a more than six-hour drive from Balmoral, the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II has arrived at Holyrood house Palace.

As a hearse carrying her coffin drove past the late queen with people paying their respects and cheering the streets lined throughout Edinburgh.

By the Royal Standard of Scotland the flag the monarch her coffin is covered uses when north of the border and from the queen’s estate the wreath on the coffin is made up of flowers, including dahlias, sweet pea, heather and pine fir.

In the forecourt of Holyrood house Palace with a Royal Salute, where the coffin was received a Guard of Honour from The Royal Regiment of Scotland greeted the coffin.

By lining tractors along part of the route of a hearse carrying the queen’s coffin from Balmoral to Edinburgh, Scottish farmers paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday.

The farmers told ABC News that by one of the local farmers the event near the village Ballater was organized overnight.

To the United Kingdom’s longest reigning monarch in addition to paying tribute, the farmers said they also did it to show support for the queen’s daughter, Princess Anne, for years who has been involved with the local farming community.

His daughters, Prince Andrew, to care for Queen Elizabeth’s corgis. The Duke of York, a source close to Prince Andrew, confirms to ABC News that he and his daughters will look after Queen Elizabeth II’s corgis.

At Royal Lodge the corgis will return to live, the official country residence of Prince Andrew and Duchess of York, Prince Andrew’s former wife Sarah Ferguson, the source said.

Even after she and Andrew divorced in 1996, Ferguson and the queen bonded over long walks with their dogs and horseback riding.

She believes the newly crowned King Charles will be a “bridge to the future”, said on Sunday by The U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom, Jane Hartley.

“He is both a link to the past I think and a bridge to the future. He touched everything perfectly, I think if you watched his inaugural speech, he touched everything perfthat is what we would call it. 

He touched his love for his mother, but also his love for the country as well as his sense of duty to the country. And I think she instilled in him that. Hartley told “This Week” co-anchor Martha Raddatz Sunday and then I think he has been preparing for this role for many, many years,”.

“So, I think it will be interesting what he does, because I think he will be a bridge to the future.” Biden says he’s yet to speak to King Charles. 

President Joe Biden said on Sunday morning that he still has not spoken with King Charles III since he assumed the throne. “I’ve spoken to him many times, but I haven’t spoken to him since he’s become king,” Biden said as he departed Delaware Sunday morning.

On Sunday, King Charles III held more meetings at Buckingham Palace.  At Buckingham Palace on Sunday his Majesty the King will undertake several meetings, formally his first full day as the new monarch. 

ET followed by a reception at 9 a.m. with Realm High Commissioners in the Bow Room of Buckingham Palace at 9:30 a.m. In the 1844 Room ET the King received the Secretary General of the Commonwealth.
