Corporate wellness is no longer a semi-obscure benefit provided by a small percentage of businesses. According to a study sponsored by Rand Corp. and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 80% of businesses with more than 50 employees offer a benefit related to corporate wellness. These are not merely employee perks. Corporate Wellness programmes can help reduce absenteeism while increasing productivity and employee well-being. They can also have a positive impact on various aspects of a company's bottom line, such as medical costs. For example, wellness programmes implemented at the Los Alamos National Laboratory have reduced its annual healthcare premium increase to 2.5%, a rate significantly lower than the 7% national average.
