On Instagram, everyone knows that all users can see who viewed their story. This feature can be very practical for identifying stalkers, but it is more annoying when you want to secretly look at what your ex or your crush has published. As a reminder, an Instagram story is a photo or video published on a user's profile for 24 hours only.

1. Create another account or “finsta” (for fake insta)
The idea is simple and already well known to Instagram users: it involves creating a second anonymous account on the application. This stratagem, in addition to being safe, will allow you to secretly watch the stories of several people over time. On the other hand, you will be able to access stories from private accounts only if they accept your subscription request, which is not always possible when your account is anonymous. Additionally, you can get burned if you post things that relate to you on your fake account or follow people you know. Be careful until the end and choose a random nickname!
2. Put yourself in airplane mode
More technical, this method is extremely effective. This involves connecting to Instragram with your usual account, giving the application time to load the multimedia content from your news feed then putting your smartphone in airplane mode. Content already downloaded will therefore be visible and you will be able to click on a story without risking appearing in the list of nicknames who have watched it.
3. The method for professionals
This method, which can be tricky, is only reserved for true Instagram followers who are used to swiping. They will first have to go to their news feed, where the list of stories to watch appears at the top of their screen. Once the targeted story has been identified, click on the story for the following profile. When this user's story is displayed, simply press on it to pause it then gently slide the image to the right without ever lifting your finger. The previous story (of the intended target) will then appear on the screen of your smartphone. But be careful, if you raise your finger the story will actually be displayed and you will lose your anonymity.

This site (https://insta-stories-viewer.com/) will allow you to freely and anonymously consult the stories of any public account on Instagram after viewing some advertising content. The site also allows you to download the stories viewed with the “Download” tab.
5. Download the Story Reposter app
The Story Reposter iPhone app will also allow you to view any story anonymously after logging in via your Instagram account. The same application exists for Android under the name Story Saver.
How to download an Instagram video?
Although the application does not allow it directly, it is entirely possible to download a video from Instagram. Some sites offer to do this for free but they are not all accessible in French.
Using IGSaved
IGSaved is a very easy to use interface. Start by searching for the video that interests you on Instagram then tap the three little dots at the top right of the post. Then click on “copy link” then go to IGSaved and paste the link you just created. Press “download” then “download .mp4” again and that’s it. You can use this site on your computer or phone.
Use Downloadgram
Just like Igram, downloadgram allows you to download an Instagram video easily. It is a website that you can use on your computer but also on your mobile. Go to Instagram and choose the video you want to download then tap the three little dots at the top right of the post and click “copy link”. Then go to the downloadgram site and paste the video link. Click on “download now” then when a new web page appears, click on “download” just below the video you want to download.
Use Save-Insta
Save-Insta allows you to download Instagram videos very easily. Proceed in the same way as for other sites by going to the publication that interests you on Instagram, copy the link in the three small dots at the top right of the publication and go to Save-Insta. Then paste the link and click on “view” then wait for the page to load again and scroll down to get to the “download video” button.
