Alcoholic beverages including beer, wine and liquor are usually made with different processes and ingredients, where the involvement of fermentation is involved, as the yeast development mainly creates the process of alcohol by consuming sugars. Other factors may also affect the shelf life of alcohol which can involve the temperature, oxidation and exposure to light as well. Therefore, let’s discuss some of the shelf-stable life of the following alcoholic beverages. They are as follows:

  • Liquor: Liquor is usually known to be shelf-stable which includes the categories of vodka, whisky, rum, gin and tequila as well. • Beer: Beer is usually produced by brewing a cereal grain where malted barley with yeast and water is mixed together, where fermentation is done producing natural carbonation which provides beer with a distinctive fizz, and lastly the hop plant for flavour is usually added for the process, which imparts the bitter taste including citrus notes, floral and aromas as well. These mainly stabilise and preserve the beer, where a sealed beer can be kept for 6 to 8 months past its use-by date and lasts longer if you refrigerate it.
