Indoor air quality refers to air quality in and around structures and buildings. It has a direct and indirect effect on the health and ease of breathing for occupants of the structures and buildings. Therefore, common indoor air pollutants need to be controlled to minimize indoor health risks. Low indoor air quality can have detrimental effects on those who are affected by it, which can result in complications in the short and long run.

Therefore, there is a need to implement suitable Hygienic AHU that have the capability to filter out undesirable pollutants from the air that comes indoors. These pollutants include dust, dust mites, mould, bacteria, viruses, pollen etc. To ensure the indoor air quality is safe for breathing and regular indoor activities, hygienic air handling units must most definitely be installed.

Hygienic air handling units are effective subject to how well it can collect and filter out pollutants from indoor air, expressed as percentage efficiency rate, in addition to how much air is drawn out through the cleaning or filtration element. An efficient air cleaner with low air-circulation rates will not be effective, just as cleaners with high air-circulation rates but less efficient collectors would not be. The long-term performance of air cleaners depends on maintenance per manufacturer directions.

Moreover, another significant factor that determines air cleaner effectiveness is the strength of the pollutant source. Table-top air cleaners may not remove satisfactory amounts of pollutants from strong nearby sources. Those with sensitivity to specific sources could find that air cleaners are helpful in conjunction with efforts to remove the source pollutants.

Some salient features of Trosten hygienic air handling units are as listed below:

  1. Trosten hygienic air handling units have a capacity range of 600 CFM to 60,000 CFM.
  2. Hygienic air handling units are tested and certified for VDI 6022 Part 1: 2011 & DIN 1946 Part 4: 2008 standards by TUV-SUD, Germany
  3. Casing made of aluminum or stainless-steel sheet and snap fix, or screw-less panel construction
  4. Hardware and fasteners are of stainless-steel material
  5. Drainpan is of stainless steel, SS 316 construction
  6. Direct driven plug and EC fans are a part of the hygienic air handling unit as well
  7. There are heat recovery options with a plate type heat exchange, heat pipe heat recovery, run around coils and many more.
  8. Gaskets & plastic parts that are used should be of microbial inertness complying to ISO846.
  9. Major components like fan, coil, motor etc. are withdrawable
  10. The options of hepa filter installation, UV lamp installation and more, are also available
