A study shows that less than 25% of dogs vomit after eating grass. The 10% has pre-existing symptoms before consuming grass. This shows that most dogs don't consume grass because they are unwell. The grass itself can cause vomiting after ingesting it. However, no evidence has proven this claim yet.

Eating grass is not a good habit for dogs. The grass might contain parasites that can infect your dog and other chemicals that can harm your dog, such as pesticides.

Even if the grass is believed to cause vomiting among dogs, it might no longer be normal when your dog consistently vomits after eating grass. When this happens, contact your vet immediately. Take note of your dog's symptoms so you can inform your vet about them. Some symptoms dogs display after eating grass are lethargy, diarrhea, refusal to eat, and stomach issues. If your dog doesn't display any of these symptoms but has ingested a considerable amount of grass, keep him hydrated. Let him fast within 8 to 12 before continuing to feed him regular dog food.
