Kangwon Land, the promoter of Kangwon Land (pictured), the only casino resort in the country where locals are allowed to gamble, was extended until 6 a.m. on Sept. 21, the temporary closure of its gaming facilities. Previously, it said the closure would last until Sept. 7. The extension comes as South Korea continues to apply community measures to curb COVID-19 infections. 카지노사이트

The Kangwon Land site was first shut down in early February, around the start of the pandemic emergency. Some casinos reopened in May, but only in the VIP area, not the main building. The shutdown was reactivated on Aug. 23 amid a surge in infections across the country.

Kangwon Land said in a Friday filing with the Korea Exchange that it expects casino sales losses to reach 36.4 billion won ($30.6 million) based on average daily casino sales in the first half of 2020, from 10 a.m. on Aug. 23 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 21.

Kangwon Land Resort is about 150 kilometers (93 miles) from Seoul, the capital of Kangwon Land.

South Korean authorities on Friday decided to extend it for another week, a stepped-up measure against the spread of COVID-19. The measures include restrictions on the operation of restaurants, bakeries and franchise coffee chains in the capital city of Seoul.

Yonhap reported that the step, which applies to the capital, is known as the "Level 2.5" social distancing guidelines, and that the capital has tightened the "Level 2 ″ rules" that apply across the country.

Under the \'Level 2\' rule, outdoor gatherings of more than 100 people are prohibited. Indoor gatherings of more than 50 people are prohibited.

As of 12 a.m. on Friday, South Korea recorded 198 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the national tally of infections to 20,842.

A total of 15,783 people have already been discharged from "quarantine," but 331 people have died from the disease in the country. It is according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\'s dedicated website.
