Concrete is an indispensable ingredient of the construction industry. If there is a structure to be built, then concrete is a must. Concrete is very important in present-day construction due to the strength and stability provided to the structures.  Concrete is mouldable into different shapes and sizes and is also cost-effective. This flexibility and versatility makes it the most demanded material in the construction industry. SD Conmix provides the best quality of ready mix concrete for all types of constructions.

Concrete is environmentally friendly and can be recycled, as its production involves natural ingredients. The used and crushed concrete can be used as dry aggregate in the production of new concrete. Different construction needs different concrete types like plain /ordinary concrete, high-density concrete, reinforced concrete, precast concrete, prestressed concrete, air-entrained concrete, lightweight concrete, stamped concrete, self-consolidating concrete, polymer concrete, etc. SD Commix is the best supplier of ready-mix concrete per construction needs.

Let us see the different types of concrete available or used.

Plain/ordinary/Normal concrete: This concrete consists of the basic ingredients of concrete, sand, and aggregate in 1:2:4 ratios with normal strength concrete. It’s normally used for pavements or a building that does not require high tensile strength.

Lightweight concrete: Also called cellular concrete can be easily poured using gravity and levels by itself due to its flowing nature. It is mainly used in the construction of floor slabs, roofs, and window panels. The aggregates used include scoria, pumice, clay, and expanded shales. This type of concrete has very low thermal conductivity.

High- density concrete: This type of concrete is made of crushed rocks, iron, or barytes as coarse aggregate to get high density. Usually used in nuclear power plants and other such buildings, as it protects from x-rays and radiation.

Reinforced concrete:  As the name suggests, reinforced concrete increases the overall strength of the structure. It is used in conjunction with steel bars or rods, wire meshes, fibers, and other materials, which improve the tensile strength of the concrete. Forming a strong bond together, the materials combine to resist all types of applied forces.

Precast concrete: Here, the concrete is manufactured and cast in factory- controlled settings as per exact specifications using reusable moulds. The Precast concrete units are assembled to form the structure at the transported site. Typically, used for staircases, tunnels, wall panels, columns or beams, and so on.

Self-consolidating concrete:  In this type, the concrete flows under its weight, spreads, fills, and consolidates by itself without mechanical consolidation. SCC is mainly used in the construction of complex concrete frames due to its flowing properties and high workability.

Air-entrained concrete:  It is a special concrete where air, gas, or foam is purposely infused in up to 6% of the concrete. It relieves the internal pressure on the concrete by creating air chambers for the water to expand when frozen. For any type of concrete, the preferred choice is SD Conmix, the best supplier of ready mix concrete and other construction materials like concrete blocks, organic solvents, sealants etc.
