The year 2018 has already brought good news for party people of Chennai. There is a whole set of additions to the pub/bar scene. Check out this list:

Watson’s, T Nagar

When the Bengaluru-based pub, Watson’s made a grand entry early this year, all eyes were on it. The place has managed to live up to the hype and has already managed to create a steady fan following. Watson’s is spacious and is divided into three sections. This ensures, there is always ample space. Add to that, their innovative cocktails Filter Coffee Margherita and Back on Black; you are set for the evening. The food menu also has been curated with a lot of thought and features global cuisine. Mushroom and Cheese Pull-Apart Bread, paneer skewers, Shepherd’s Pie and Chilli Sesame Pork – there is everything you would want to have as grub food at Watson’s. Time to hit this place with your gang!

 Thirsty Crow, Nungambakkam

Thirsty Crow has been getting a lot of happening party crowd of Chennai since the time it opened, end of last year. The moment you enter the place, you will be transported to an era of steam punk and industrial chic. The place gets a heavy footfall even on weekdays and you need to make your reservations to get a table. On Wednesdays, be ready to push and shove as the place offers a one plus one on drinks. Thursdays is Bollywood night and you will catch quite a few familiar faces from party circuit grooving to latest numbers and Bhangra beats. The liquor at Thirsty Crow is value for money. But the food menu needs to be worked upon. Go there to mingle with party regulars, dance to some cool music and catch up with friends over drinks.

 Sherlock’s Pub, Kilpauk

The iconic British-style pub chain from Bengaluru, that takes a modern look at the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, opened its first outlet at Kilpauk in January this year. Located in the Abu Sarovar Plaza hotel, this one has created quite a name for itself for having a huge space and awesome cocktails. Cocktail pitchers and fruity mocktails to wines and spirits; they’ve got it all. But the place is known for its amazing beer varieties – be it in mugs, pint or towers. Not just alcohol, Sherlock’s Pub is known for its amazing food including nachos, fries, fish & chips, steak, sandwiches and more.

 Radio Room, MRC Nagar

Most pubs and bars in Chennai are crowded with college kids and young professionals. This place is a welcome change. It attracts a sizeable population of middle-aged people and has a lovely ambience to cater to this age group. The food options at Radio Room are beyond delicious and there is something for everybody. They have everything from Mushroom Feta Puff to Fish Bao. Their cocktails pack a punch and most of the serving staff is eager to help. The place is packed on weekends. Don’t forget to reserve a seat.

 Secret Society, RA Puram

This one is located in the basement of Treebo J`s Five Two Hotel, right at the intersection that connects RA Puram to Alwarpet. It is extremely popular among the younger lot and has great karaoke evenings on Sundays. This lounge-cum-bar poses to be a perfect place for any working professional to unwind after a long day at work. It offers a range of finger foods – from Chinese, Continental to Indian. A great range of beers, wines, aperitifs, shooters, brandy, cocktails, flamers, imported scotch, whiskeys, rums, gins, vodkas and mocktails are available on their bar menu. Started in 2017, this is the same place that housed the popular watering hole, Small World.

 Dash@OMR, Semmancheri

 If you stay around OMR and have been cribbing about lack of options to party in that part of the town, we bring good news! Now Semmancheri has a cool new pub called Dash@OMR. It is a four-floor set-up with a restaurant, a banquet hall and BBQ & Grill on rooftop and yes, a night-club, Sober Tipsy. The club has a dance floor, bar and lot of cool, themed lighting. Commercial and Bollywood music dominates andon Wednesday is the Ladies’ Night. Sip on special cocktails including their signature Dash Special, a concoction of grape juice, wine reduction and vodka.
