Everyone loves paintball! But owning a paintball gun and equipment should make a person responsible for maintaining them properly to increase their functional life. Buying a paintball Glock online is a big investment, hence calls for proper care and maintenance. So we will see in this post some helpful maintenance tips that paintball owners need to be aware of.

Oiling

Ensure you oil the paintball gun often, but not too often. You can oil it before playing at the marker's front and rear bolt O-rings. See to it that you only use enough oil to coat the seals. Make sure you clean, dry, and lube the springs and the o-rings with oil to improve their mechanisms. Applying too much oil can cause build-up over time, thus causing mechanical malfunctions. So when buying a paintball Glock online, do not forget to add oil or a lube type of paste to your purchase. It would be best to refer to the user manual to check what type of lubricant will be best for your paintball gun.

Clean the exteriors after every use.

After every use, remove the CO2 or HPA tank and clean the marker thoroughly by wiping down the exterior of the paintball gun to remove the paint. The best way to clean the exterior of the paintball gun would be by using a damp, soft, and clean cloth. Avoid using soaps, abrasive washcloths, and chemical cleaners.

Proper storage

The best practice for storing your paintball gun is to keep it in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. Sunlight and heat can damage the tank as CO2 expands in high temperatures.

Regular deep cleaning

Deep cleaning after every few games is necessary to keep the gun to its best use. You can disassemble and thoroughly clean the gun. Also, ensure there is no gas in your gun before you start cleaning to avoid misfires. For deep cleaning, unscrew the barrel and remove the paint, dirt, and debris using a soft barrel swab. You can use a rubber squeegee to pull small particles through the barrel. Ensure you wipe off the loader, which sits on the top of the gun and feeds the paintballs into the breach. If you want to remove all the particles, paint, and dirt from the loader, wash it in warm, soapy water and then dry it. See that you clean out the breach thoroughly where the paintballs fall from the loader into the barrel. The paintballs could jam if there is any residue in the breach.

You can also remove the shell or outer covering of the gun's components. In order to avoid misplacing the screws, place them in a dish close to where you are working. Take care of every screw; it must be put back together after cleaning. After removing the clamshell, check for the springs and wipe them off with a clean cloth. Check if they have any cracks or have worn out. These springs are removable and can be cleaned by wiping them off with a damp cloth. If needed, you can also replace themes with new ones. Do not forget to clean the spring seat as well. Also, check the threads on the ASA adapter present at the bottom rear of the marker and wipe them off with a damp cloth.

Maintaining the paintball marker

Remember that paintball markers are delicate and need cleaning every day. The main components of the marker include the barrel, trigger, loader or hopper, clamshell, ASA adapter, and hardware such as bolts, screws, detents, sears, springs, etc. Each marker has an instruction manual that can help you disassemble the gun and clean it to keep it in good working condition. Studying the manual thoroughly can save money and time by helping you avoid visiting the service centers. You can also learn about the quick repairs if the marker malfunctions during the game.

Basic reparations and troubleshooting

The US model magazines do not require the black rubber ball spring installation as it will cause excess pressure on the balls, thus making the trigger harder to pull. The top silver portion of the magazine is made of soft metal. So if it has been dropped and dented, the inner barrel sticks in the mag when the trigger is pulled. If the dent is severe, it will not release the barrel since the trigger will not function properly. This condition can be repaired by pulling the inner barrel forward with something that will not damage it. Once it comes forward to the normal position, drop the mag and check the top for any damage. You can compare it with a good mag to see if it has been deformed. You can then use the rebuild kit provided by the manufacturer or completely replace the top of the mag by buying a new one.

Winding up

Cleaning and maintaining a paintball gun is easy if you follow the right tips. Regular cleaning can increase the shelf-life of the guns and keep them in their best working conditions.
