Make cash delivering Delta’s luggage

Delta loses so much luggage that they’re hiring travelers to deliver lost suitcases to passengers. We can’t tell if this is a genius business move by Delta, or if it just reflects badly on their organizational system, but there’s no denying that they’re taking a proactive approach to the lost-luggage epidemic.

Delta is partnering with Roadie, a delivery service that connects businesses with nearby drivers to make local, regional, and long-haul deliveries. This partnership is intended to make life easier for travelers whose luggage was lost in transit, and give other travelers a way to make some easy money.

To sign up for a “Roadie gig,” just register on the Roadie website as a driver, and log onto the app to see what opportunities are available in airports near you. For local drop-offs, luggage delivery drivers can make anywhere from $8 to $80, and up to $650 for longer trips. While it might seem a little strange to do Delta’s job for them, as long as you’re making money and customers are getting their luggage returned to them, it’s tough to see this as anything but a win-win.
