The Challenge

Maritime Pacific was looking for ways to streamline their Voyage Profit & Loss estimations. The solutions consisted of the Voyage Estimator (SNICS), Manager & Accounts (SNAIR – Invoicing) to drive their commercial operations forward. Additionally, the Accounting Solution (SNACS) was implemented to handle the company’s financial processes. At the time, these were being conducted manually, taking up valuable time and resources.

With data analysis evolving within the Maritime sector, the management team at Asia Maritime Pacific was looking to increase the company’s outputs in researching previous voyage data, to increase efficiencies & profits for future voyages.

Maritime Pacific began analyzing the market for a commercial solution that would help ensure a competitive position for the company in the Dry Bulk market.

The Ship Management Solution

Management's long-standing partnership with Asia Maritime Pacific began back in 2008 when Asia Maritime Pacific chose to utilize Management Chartering & Operator solutions. The solutions consisted of the Voyage Estimator (SNICS), Manager & Accounts (SNAIR – Invoicing) to drive their commercial operations forward. Additionally, the Accounting Solution (SNACS) was implemented to handle the company’s financial processes.

More recently, in March 2019, Asia Maritime Pacific embarked on a solution upgrade. This upgrade saw the company utilize the current features and benefits of the (now known as) Management Commercial XE & Finance XE Solutions.

The Result

Through continued use of the Management Solutions, Asia Maritime Pacific have optimized their commercial and financial processes. This, in turn, has enhanced their ability to control and analyze their chartering, operations, voyage, and real-time financial data, and achieve revenue growth targets Maritime Payments.

Future Developments for  Maritime Pacific

Asia Maritime Pacific sees the partnership with Management continuing to develop, with Management playing an essential role in a prosperous shipping industry.

As Management continues to develop innovative solutions tailored towards daily maritime operations, Asia Maritime Pacific will look to implement further Management Solutions within their IT infrastructure. At the same time, Asia Maritime Pacific will continue to deepen their understanding of existing solution philosophies to improve business operational efficiencies through working closely.

The voyage manager solutions available within the Management Commercial XE platform act as a working assistant, ensuring daily operations always run smoothly, while enabling us to track elements such as bunker procurement & time. These benefits, combined with comprehensive reporting and data analysis functionality, gives our management team a clear overview of how our fleet is performing, enabling them to make decisions to achieve revenue goals

Poli Tankers began working with Ship Management in 2005 when the Chartering & Operating departments lead the decision to source Ship Chartering & Operating Software Solutions. They were seeking a tailored solution for their fleet of Chemical Tankers that would transform their operations of transferring parcels & spot cargos.

After conducting an extensive evaluation of the maritime software solutions market and undergoing a tender of several vendors, Port Tankers chose Ship Management Chartering & Operations platform. Current Ship Management Managing Director, Giovanni Colotto, looked back on the partnership between Ship Management & Port, commenting “Shipping provided a complete & tailored solution in terms of the offering, especially for Chemical Tankers.” He further added that  “Ship Management was also best placed to provide the level of customer service that we required for the project.”

From an energy efficiency and EU-MRV Compliance perspective, meant the move to deploy Ship Connect was further justified. “The decision to go with Ship Connect was an easy one, as you cannot allocate resources internally to collect data manually for IMO DCS or EU-MRV Reporting & Compliance. We needed to go for an integrated and embedded solution in our digital architecture that would provide us with a straightforward and centralized input of data from our vessels. He was outstanding in meeting all our requirements. He exceeded our expectations through his detailed knowledge and experience of the system, which enabled him to have working dashboards ready for us within 4/5 days, having one of the best consultants in the digital field was honestly a positive surprise

What does the future hold for the partnership and the maritime industry?

Believes it will continue with the same attitude and will be keeping a watchful eye on the roadmap that our solutions take. “When choosing to work with a software provider such as Voyage Charter Party, they become invested in your operations, so naturally, this solidifies the partnership.

Before embracing digitalization, every shipping company needs to establish their requirements based on their operations, KPI’s, and data. From here, it is about understanding the requirements of a digital architecture over the course of the next ten years. They need to establish which departments will become digitized, what are the areas that need to be tracked and improved upon, and most crucially how to change your organization’s culture to embrace digital technology and bring in the right talent to implement the change.
