International movies which previously only focused on the USA and China, are now shifting gears to developing nations like India, Brazil, and South Korea to gain new fans. This can be seen from the fact that they are not releasing movies same day internationally as well as promoting their streaming services. And India is a big game for them.
Why India is great for Hollywood?
India is growing economically and the younger generation now needs more entertainment in their fans. In terms of Hollywood Movies, the USA is still their home market and China is their biggest international market. But those markets are now getting saturated. They are also comfortable spending money on this. Much international pop culture content recognized this new craving craze for entertainment and they are coming to India. WWE is a big example since they started doing Live events in India as well. Hollywood also knows the potential of India and they also want skin in the game.
As a superhero fan, I can say that Marvel is doing great for expanding its business in India. Indians always loved action-adventure movies from the west before. Superheroes are also popular. Marvel has a huge fan base in India in almost all regions. While some Hollywood movies were only limited to south India and big cities like 5 years ago, Marvel is now loved by fans from almost all cities in India. Especially because of their good movies and MCU connected universe.

And now their new movie Shang-Chi Release Date in India is September 03 proved this. This is the same day it is releasing in the USA. Not only that, but it is also releasing in 3D and IMAX format. Theatres can only currently operate at only 50% capacity. While theatres are closed in some big states are still closed, they still decided to release this movie in India. Not only that, but they are also dubbing this movie in Hindi Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. They are also releasing Black Widow on Disney+ Hotstar in more than 5 regional languages. They also released Hindi trailers for their movies and shows on time. This shows that they know the potential of Fans in India and they are serving them right.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be a big movie for sure. This movie is also gaining big reviews in India. Black Widow was also so much hyped in India. While DC movies and some other Hollywood movies skip dubbed releases here sometimes, they always focus on their desi fans. Even if you look on their social media accounts, fans are always active and asking different questions to them. I also love Marvel and MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) movies and I think they are doing everything great. They are also making affordable pricing plans for their streaming service Hotstar for Indians fans as well. So YES! India is a big market for MCU.
