Mistakes to Avoid When Communicating with Your Masseuse

We see a lot of clients, and some of them may not realize how seriously we take what we have to say. It's not that we're overly delicate; it's that some of the things people say aren't acceptable and are often more obscene than you might expect.

What not to say (or do) during your next Lymphatic Drainage Massage near me with us, as well as other tips on proper massage etiquette:

Invite your masseuse to a movie, a home visit, or other activity of your choosing. To that end, we make every effort to maintain an air of professionalism with our patrons. That's why it's best if you come to our office on your own time for your first visit. If your request is excessively suggestive, we will politely decline your invitation and advise you find another massage therapist.

Noise levels are too high. Things make noises. Complaining sounds made when a pleasant experience is had. If you do it loudly enough, the other rooms might hear you as well, so please don't glare at us when you do it (yes, that has occurred). We might believe you're attempting to get more than just a massage out of the experience if that's all you do the whole time.

Make flattering remarks about our appearance. We're a little more sensitive to praises than most due to years of deception in the profession. Although we always maintain a professional demeanor during massages, we worry that your comments on our appearance are an attempt to change the nature of our relationship with you.

When you're ready, stick your head out of the door. We appreciate how soon you get yourself ready for your massage. Unfortunately, we also need to be prepared for the massage. We can get you a drink of water, use the facilities, or just make sure you're not in a hurry to sit down. Please be patient and wait for your massage therapist to return to the room before beginning your treatment. Your yelling down the corridor isn't soothing to our other clients who are enjoying their massages.

While we're still in here, feel free to begin disrobing. Again, for the sake of our professional relationship, we need to leave the room before you begin to undress. Each client's comfort is our top priority, therefore we only show them progress when it's made. When we remove our clothes before leaving the room, we expose parts of ourselves that we aren't working on, and it makes it harder for us to focus on what you need from us during that session.

Don't be shy, reach out and touch us. We reach out and touch you. Don't come anywhere near us; we don't like being touched. When that happens, things start to get strange. It's a bit awkward, too. You could give us the impression that you're trying to alter our working relationship, which would be counterproductive.

It's unreasonable to arrive late and then demand your full allotted time. That includes things like showing up on time but then taking a call for 15 minutes or talking to us about everything under the sun so that we end up starting late. We'll get you going as close to the scheduled start time as possible. If the Massage Therapist is running behind schedule and we end up starting late as a result, you are entitled to your whole allotted time.
