MWC 2021 Event Is Here, Check Out the Details

The biggest tech event of 2021, The Mobile World Congress (MWC), is set to begin in Barcelona today. The event, which runs from June 28 to July 1, was canceled last year due to the Covid-19 epidemic but will be in hybrid settings this year. Many big tech companies are going to be part of the event and many big announcements may be made in the next few days. The event will begin at 7:15 pm CET today.

Mobile World Congress (MWC)

Mobile World Congress 2021 or MWC is the largest annual event in the Barcelona telecom industry. The flagship event, hosted by GSMA, includes representatives from almost all major telecom operators, smartphone companies, component manufacturers, trade insiders, media, and different countries around the world. However, brands like Google, Nokia, Xiaomi, Sony, and Facebook will not be part of the event this year. On the other hand, many virtual events have also been made part of it.

The mobile world Congress event had to be postponed this year due to the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic around the world. The event normally takes place in March, which has been rescheduled for the end of June this year. Starting from June 28, 2021, the event will continue till July 1, 2021. However, the threat associated with Covid-19 has not yet been averted so this event will be a mix of in-person and virtual showcases.

Samsung’s Galaxy Ecosystem

South Korean smartphone company Samsung is becoming a part of the event. Though the company will not launch any smartphone in MWC 2021. Samsung will instead talk about its Galaxy ecosystem and highlight the changes that are taking place in the world of smartwatches. Last month, Google and Samsung came up with a new smartwatch platform Wear, which has been developed by combining Tizen and Wear OS. The first look of galaxy Watch 4 can also be seen in this event.

Announcements by Intel and Lenovo

Chipset company Intel is also becoming a part of MWC 2021 and can make announcements related to 5G technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at virtual events. Lenovo has also confirmed its presence at the event and recently announced some new laptops. The company may include more new products in its existing Chromebooks, Laptops and Accessories range on June 28.

Elon Musk’s keynote

Space-X founder and Tesla CEO Alan Musk is going to deliver keynotes at the event in which he will be speaking at an Internet satellite project by his company. Elon Musk is working on a plan to connect more and more people to the high-speed Internet with the help of satellite dishes. This will be possible with the help of Starlink networks and the testing has begun for the same. With the help of this, the internet will be delivered to areas where cables cannot be sent.

This project is one of the most ambitious projects of Elon Musk and Starlink. Musk is planning to make Starlink an Antipiracy network. In the past people who are using Starlink get messages in which it is mentioned that don’t access pirated content.
