What happened?
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) released the NEET PG 2026 City Intimation Slip on August 11, 2026. The slip informs candidates about the city allotted for their examination, helping them make travel and accommodation plans. However, some candidates reportedly received different exam-city information through SMS and the official NBEMS portal, creating confusion.
The issue was linked to a technical problem with the SMS information. Candidates should therefore check the details available on the official NBEMS portal before making travel arrangements.
What is NEET PG?
NEET PG, or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test–Postgraduate, is an entrance examination for postgraduate medical courses such as MD, MS and PG Diploma programmes. It is conducted by NBEMS for eligible medical graduates.
In simple terms, the process can be understood as:
MBBS → NEET PG → Rank/Result → Counselling → Seat Allotment → Admission
This makes NEET PG an important step for doctors who want to continue their medical education after MBBS.
What is the City Intimation Slip?
The City Intimation Slip tells a candidate which city they have been allotted for the examination. It is different from the admit card.
Candidates should remember:
- City Intimation Slip = Exam city information
- Admit Card = Exam centre and exam-day instructions
- The slip should not be treated as the final admit card.
- Candidates should check official NBEMS updates for further instructions.
What should candidates do if the SMS is wrong?
Latest Education and Career News in Hindi can help candidates stay updated about important examination developments. If the city mentioned in an SMS is different from the information shown on the official portal, candidates should:
- Log in to the official NBEMS portal.
- Download and check the City Intimation Slip.
- Follow the information displayed on the official portal.
- Avoid booking expensive travel based only on a conflicting SMS.
- Regularly check official NBEMS notices for updates.
When is NEET PG 2026?
The NEET PG 2026 examination is scheduled for August 30, 2026, while the result is scheduled to be declared by September 30, 2026. The test-city information was scheduled for August 11.
Exam and Results in Hindi updates are particularly useful at this stage because candidates need to keep track of the city slip, admit card, examination date and later counselling information.
Why is this update important?
The exam city can make a major difference for candidates who need to travel to another city. They may have to arrange transport, accommodation and local travel before the examination.
Careers and Education News in Hindi also needs to explain that clearing NEET PG does not automatically guarantee admission to a preferred college or specialty. A candidate's rank, category, available seats, choices and applicable counselling rules can affect the final seat allotment.
For this reason, candidates should rely on official NBEMS information rather than unverified messages or social-media posts. Updates related to medical admissions can change quickly, so checking the latest official notice is important.
