New Zealand Pharmacist Workforce Shortages Hit Critical Levels

Recently, New Zealand has come across a remarkable decline in Pharmacy. The number of pharmacists available in healthcare facilities has diminished at a high rate. As the demand for pharmaceutical services is mushrooming every day, this significant shortage of personnel is putting a strain on the entire healthcare system.

Several pharmacies have been shut down by the supermarket chain countdown due to a shortage of skilled professionals. More than twenty pharmacies are operating with a reduced number of operating hours. According to the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment; NZ employers can easily recruit pharmacists through the scheme of the Accredited Employer Work Visa.
