Changes on NSW State Nomination for FY 2023-24

As part of the NSW State Nomination Updates, let’s see the changes that apply to the program for the financial year 2023-24. Among the changes is a new method to address skill shortages across the state. New South Wales will now prioritize targeted sectors above skilled occupation listings. To be eligible for the NSW state nomination, you must:

  • Meet all of the Department of Home Affairs visa criteria;
  • Hold a valid Skills Assessment for an occupation in a NSW priority sector;
  • Must be a resident of NSW and have lived there continuously for at least six months, or currently residing overseas and have lived there continuously for at least six months.
