It starts with just one class. Then a week passes. Then a monthly package — which essentially means you will be certified a yoga teacher. And will you be wondering to yourself, what should I do take this to the next stage. Well, yogis, there is more you will need to do as a yoga teacher. But on this post, I would like to discuss some tips that can certainly make your training go as smooth as possible.

Yoga teacher training is very compact and heavy. To get the knowledge and become a certified teacher at the end of the program means to fit in as much as you can in the allotted amount of time. An occupied routine (like everything in life) means time is of the essence! Plan your day well. You will need to choose a win between the yoga sessions, lessons, and research, exercise and rest. Personally, it is the most important thing to do during this training, as with proper effective time management, you can avoid overwhelming yourself!

Hydrate, moisturize, moisturize. All the teacher instructors continuously emphasize you moisturizing your body. Particularly with the hot yoga training, you will sweat a lot more than normal because you will be working in a moist environment. So it is important that you keep your body moisturized. Here’s a tip: add a touch of sodium and a bit of calcium juice in your water to restore your body with nutrients. When our body sweats, we lose electrolytes and through water, we do not renew all of them. Bring your water bottle with you with no issue where you go to drink water — you’ll need it!

Listen to your body. With the compact characteristics of yoga, your body will become sore after a few times. It’s crucial that you pay attention to your body and be in line with your boundaries. Keep in mind that it’s a long-range marathon, not a dash to the end. The training is one month long, so ensure that your well-being is in order. Improve your stamina by taking good care of yourself: actually, psychologically, and in every other way! Know your boundaries and get some rest if you need to.

Practice often and get enough rest. During the course, you will learn tons of poses with important dialogue. You will be checked on them and after a few times, you will be teaching a pose every day. Be made by learning hard and not procrastinating! It may not come quickly at the start, but as with all factors in life, it will come soon enough. Make sure you put in the time to research as much as you can to be more ready for professional teaching! The better ready you are, the less your anxiety will get to you.

Enjoy it. Participating in yoga teacher training in India is a desire for many. Don’t lose vision of that in the middle of the training! It’s going to be an awesome encounter that you will keep in mind for forever. You’ll make lifelong relationships and connections through fun, sweating and sometimes even crying. Enjoy your time there, believe it or not, before you know it, it will be over. Make the most out of your time there!
