Traditional toilets use about 7 gallons of water with each flush, so if you think about how man times you flush your toilet then you’re starting to get a better glimpse into how much water you’re actually using on a daily basis. Like we said above, water is a precious resource and we must all take our usage very seriously!
Pro: Less Flow Equals Fewer Expenses
One of the great benefits associated with a low flow toilet is that you’ll end up saving a lot of money on your water bills over the course of the toilet’s long lifespan. It’s always great to save on your overall resource usage, but when it saves you money as well it’s definitely a win-win situation!
Con: Up-Front Costs Are Higher
Low flow toilets are a bit specialized as compared to the rest of the industry, so this subsequently will result in higher purchasing prices and installation costs. This should pay for itself with the bill savings you’ll experience, but of course the up-front costs are something you at the very least need to take into consideration.
We all need to be careful about our own budgets when it comes to appliance purchasing and installation fees, but we’re confident that if you are fine with paying a bit more at the beginning of your investment that it will ultimately pay itself off in the long run and be a worthy investment!
Pro: Low Flow Equals A lot Less Maintenance
Low flow toilets are also known for being really durable and having a lot of longevity in terms of lifespan. There are many instances in which traditional toilets will need repairs, but a low flow toilet will be just fine and not require any repairs.
So it’s a great pro that you’ll also save money in terms of a general lack of repairs on top of your energy savings with these innovative toilets!
Con: Clog Issues
It’s an unfortunate factor associated with low flow toilets, but they are also somewhat known to experience clogging issues. This is partly because they use a lot less water to get rid of excess sewage waste, and this makes them a bit more susceptible when it comes to clogging up your pipes and plumbing system.
The odds are that you’ll just be flushing the toilet more often, but it should be recognized that clogging is something you should take into consideration when it comes to these types of toilets.
