Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is now banning players to using slurs. Game programmer Ubisoft announced their plans to tackle toxicity promising modifications to come. True to the word, Ubisoft is providing an instant ban that is automatic to any player who uses hate speech. Rainbow Six Siege Items was released to mostly positive reviews in 2015, despite lack of content and the noticeable bugs. After an initial struggle the shooter has taken off in popularity. But as its numbers grew, so did the number of slurs and offensive language. Back in April, Ubisoft said there will be the ability to muffle text conversation more chat monitoring, and their intention.

The developer looks to have gone into a way that is different opting instead to remove offending players instead of only censoring words. According to PC Gamer, Ubisoft has enacted a new set of rules regarding the use of racist or homophobic language. For a first offense, players may find themselves kicked the game for 27 minutes off. A third and second offense will lead to two-hour bans. Any further offenses will cause an investigation into the player's account, and might lead to a ban. When some users complained about finding themselves and stated the developer should focus on”real issues,” Ubisoft replied,”Struggling against toxicity and cleanup the Siege surroundings is a really real and significant issue.”
Response to the rules has been mixed, but some are venting their frustration regarding the consequences of using slurs for taking the battle against hate speech seriously with a few commending Ubisoft. A further subset of players finds the bans amusing, and claims to be goading competitions into committing offences and being kicked off. In case Rainbow Six Siege's Twitter accounts is not anything to go by, the company isn't losing any sleep over the detractors' opinions. After being cursed out for the brand new immediate ban policy, Rainbow Six Siege responded with a resounding,”Good.” Speech has long-been a difficulty that is pervasive leaving developers trying hard to choose where to draw on the line.
Ubisoft Official Website, who has claimed to believe that the gaming expertise of somebody else should be detracted from by no player's words, is backing up their words with action. Taking any definitive stance comes with an inherent risk of losing some players, but should also spare Rainbow Six Siege from being overrun by commentary that would prove more detrimental to the game's increase in the long term. The operation for the competitive FPS of Tom Clancy has been unveiled — ready yourself for Rainbow Six Siege: Grim Sky.
