The book is about an IT professional with cyber security expertise working with law enforcement agencies. Amit Dubey, who has been featured in news panels and quite a number of discussions & an interview of his is given here.

This book is about the various cases that he has worked on with law enforcement agencies and he helped cracked them using technology and logic. BTW the book is a work of fiction based on the authors real life experiences.

There are three cases which are talked about. The first case of terrorism sort of sounds unreal to be just fiction if you ask me. The other two cases are ones dealing with kidnapping & a hit and run case involving a politician.

The book is 250+ pages and really really easy to read. It is as simple as that. There is no gyan, no moral lectures but just experiences getting converted into prose. The flow is easy and has an earthy feel to its flow, a typical middle class man with his fears and family.

Why should anyone be interested in reading this book?
Why indeed? Well for starters an interesting topic has been covered (cyber security and technology) by a man working with security agencies and that too a private citizen working with government. Plus an Indian author has written a book and i always have a soft corner for our desi writers. If we won't encourage then who will. Plus the book is interesting as hell. I read it in 45 mins flat.

fine, so what if he is an Indian author? There are lot many to count?
Again true, but the topic is of critical importance. Cyber security!! China has an army of 2 lacs working only on using IT and code as weapon. Shouldn't Indian cyber security guys be made to look cool and important.

Now coming to the book. What could have been done better

A. the price varies between Rs. 190 to Rs. 250 on various websites. The books pricing should and could have been a bit lower. Say Rs. 80 to Rs. 100

b. last but not the least, this book will drown in the sea of these many books and avenues. There have been very few reviews online.

I would recommend that they start marketing it across mediums. especially TV & get out a copy of the book in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu. South India has good potential for stuff like this.
