Day 1: Jan 24, 2018, 11.30 AM

Sausalito, California
From the Golden Gate Bridge north vista point, I travelled to a cute and tiny town named ‘Sausalito'. There isn't much to do at Sausalito except for shopping and dining. I decided to spend the next 30 minutes shopping in Sausalito. I purchased a jacket for $16 and a couple of souvenirs for $3.99 each.
From Sausalito, I took the tour bus and went back to the Golden Gate Bridge welcome centre (South Point). From there I decided to take an hour hike to get to Marshall's beach from where I can get some outstanding views of the Golden Gate bridge from the coastline. Unfortunately, the hike was so exhausting and I was running out of the water. I had to get back to the welcome centre to take my bus back to the hostel where I was supposed to check in at 3 in the evening. I completed the 45 minutes hike and reached the welcome centre around 1.15 in the afternoon, and got to the Union Square at 1.50.

By then, it started to get dark and cloudy. Locals were expecting it to rain around 2 in the afternoon. Since I completed the major part of my trip – Golden Gate Bridge, Pacific Coastline hike, Sausalito – I had the rest of the day to myself to explore the Financial District, Chinatown and Union Square.

The below pictures were captured at Sausalito. The town was so peaceful and I instantly fell in love with it. It looked empty as I visited the place on a low season and I was able to make the most of it without battling through the crowd.

The below pictures were captured as I hiked across the Coastal trail from the Golden Gate Bridge south point. I was able to hike to Baker's beach but I wasn't able to fulfil my target – to get to Marshall's beach. The trail was totally empty and I was able to spot a very few hikers and bicycle riders. It was indeed scary to get down the trail to the coastline and with the ongoing shooting spree, I didn't risk myself to barge into the places that looked spooky and scary.
