The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act of 2013 (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) protects women against sexual harassment at work and provides for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment complaints, as well as matters connected with or incidental thereto.
Sexual harassment violates a woman's fundamental rights to equality under Articles 14 and 15 of the Indian Constitution, as well as her right to life and dignity under Article 21 of the Constitution, and her right to practise any profession or carry on any occupation, trade, or business, which includes a right to a safe environment free of sexual harassment.
