Sobra sits on Mljet's eastern side, and it's the main port for ferries connecting to Ploče on the mainland. That makes it a natural entry point if you're not coming via Dubrovnik, and it puts you within reach of both the national park to the west and quieter coastal spots nearby.
The catch is that Sobra itself is small — you'll want transport sorted quickly if you plan to see much beyond the port.
What Does a Sobra Car Rental Actually Get You?
Reach, mostly — and on an island shaped like Mljet, that matters more than it sounds.
