Spatial Omics refers to a series of technologies that enable the overlaying of -omics data on tissue images. Under the general term "omics," there are numerous different kinds of omics studies. For instance, proteomics analyses the protein composition, transcriptomics reads the RNA, and genomics examines the entire genome. The focus has switched from determining the primary sequence of genes to evaluating the location and interactions of various cell types and biomarkers (namely, DNA/RNA/Protein) using the spatial phenotyping method. Spatial phenotyping systems are easily incorporated into next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques.
In order to advance research from the discovery stage all the way to the translational and clinical stages, cutting-edge technology is being used more and more frequently. The use of Spatial Omics-based analysis has advanced significantly. The creators of spatial-omics solutions are putting a lot of effort into expanding the use of their distinctive technologies among a variety of clientele, such as academic research centers, research institutes, and biopharmaceutical companies.
